Each picnic package includes all rentals and decor, florals, styling, delivery, set up, and pack up. We do not provide food or beverage, but we have amazing recommendations that can deliver to your picnic!

Our picnic booking process

We’re here to answer all of your questions

  • We create your picnic based on your selections (guest count, occasion, location, color/style preferences). Each picnic is truly unique and bespoke to you. Please review our gallery and Instagram to see past picnics. You’re welcome to share photos for us to use as inspiration, but we cannot show you what your picnic will look like prior to the day.

    We deliver, set up, & style your picnic and have it ready upon your arrival. We wait at the picnic until you arrive to greet you. Once you arrive, we leave you to enjoy your experience for the reserved time. You are responsible for the items until we return to pack them up at the arranged time. Once we return to pack up, you are free to leave and enjoy the rest of your day!

  • We do NOT include food, beverage, or ice. Due to the nature of our business, we are only able to supply the picnic rentals.

  • Rest assured, we have many great caterers who can deliver to our picnics!

  • If you inquire/book through one of our recommended vendors (as listed above) please notify them that you are booking a picnic with us, your picnic location, date, and set arrival time. Our vendors usually deliver your food ~10 minutes prior to your set picnic time so everything is set up and ready prior to your arrival.

  • We require a 50% non-refundable retainer to secure a booking. This fee is non-refundable no matter the reason. If you have to cancel for any reason you forfeit fees paid as follows:

    (a) If booking is cancelled up to 5 days before the picnic date we will refund your partial booking fees paid minus the 50% retainer.

    (b) Bookings cancelled 5 days before the event date will forfeit 100% of the total booking fee;

    (c) In the event of bad weather for picnic events; Santa Barbara Picnic Co. reserves the right to refuse to set-up any outdoor event in the case of bad weather. The client will do all things reasonable to relocate the picnic to an alternate location. Alternative plans or rescheduling should occur 48 hrs prior to the booking so no extra costs are incurred. Bookings which are paid in full that require cancelation due to bad/severe weather, where practicable, will be re-scheduled within a 3 month period.  Additional costs for all the perishable items e.g. flowers, etc. will be incurred if cancelled less than 10 days prior to the picnic. Rescheduled dates are subject to availability.

  • We have a specific area at each location where we aim to set up. This area is based on parking/accessibility, while taking into account your privacy and the most ideal views surrounding the picnic.

    We require a picnic location to be within 50 yds of vehicle access. There may be additional costs if there isn’t close vehicle access or if it’s out of Santa Barbara, Montecito, Goleta. Please see our picnic locations here. 

  • We have tested many different locations throughout Santa Barbara. Our offered locations are the best due to it’s consistency.

    We cannot offer Butterfly Beach, Hendry's Beach, Haskell's Beach (the beach in front of Bacara), or Hammonds Beach due to tide concerns and inaccessibility for loading/unloading our equipment.

  • Alcohol is only allowed at the Mission Rose Garden. Alcohol is prohibited on all beaches in Santa Barbara. It is the responsibility of the Client to check alcohol laws of any venue or public space being used for one of our picnics. Santa Barbara Picnic Co. takes no responsibility for any alcohol consumption or penalties occurred.

  • If the weather forecast predicts rain for your picnic date, please contact us in advance of your picnic to discuss your options.

    Rain Cancellation Policy:

    * Cancellation and Retainer: Any cancellation will result in the loss of a 50% non-refundable retainer fee. Santa Barbara Picnic Co. will apply the Client's 50% non-refundable retainer toward a rescheduled Picnic if it is within 6 months of the original Picnic Date.

    * Retainer Exclusion for Florals: The 50% retainer will not be applied to floral arrangements for the rescheduled Picnic. If preferred, floral arrangements will need to be repurchased separately.

    * Rain Contingency: In the event of rain, the Client has up to 4 hours before the scheduled Picnic to decide whether to make alternate arrangements at an indoor location or reschedule the event. (

    * Rescheduling Terms: The Client has a 6-month limit following the cancelled Picnic for rescheduling. The rescheduled Picnic must be of equal value to the originally contracted Picnic.

    * Refund Policy: Santa Barbara Picnic Co. will refund 50% of the Picnic payment if the cancellation occurs at least 4 hours prior to the Picnic Start Time.

    * Notification Requirement: If Santa Barbara Picnic Co. is not notified of cancellation, intent of rescheduling, or change in venue a minimum of 4 hours before the Picnic Start Time, no refunds of any kind will be provided.

    * Weather Forecast Policy: In case the weather forecast predicts rain, Santa Barbara Picnic Co. will refrain from assembling items outdoors.

    * Client Responsibility: The Client is responsible for arranging an alternative indoor location in the case of rain.

    * Floral Arrangements for Rain Cancellation: If the Picnic is cancelled due to rain, the Client can arrange to pick up their floral arrangements from our local florist.

  • We require a Credit Card Authorization Form for:

    • Damanges

    • Missing/Broken Items

    • The Client leaves the picnic unattended and before we return to pack up, $100 surcharge and
liable for full cost of picnic rentals depending on any stolen/missing items.


    • The Client was later than 15 mins to arrive for the picnic.

      • 0-10mins no charge, 15 mins or part
thereof $20, 30 mins or part thereof $50, 45 mins or part thereof $80, an hour or more $100 and
we have the right to pack up the picnic without any refund.


    In the case of one of these occurring, Santa Barbara Picnic Co. will advise you and charge the
amount from the above credit card within 15 working days from the date of the booking.
